Invest Smarter with Risk-Based Baskets

Enable users to invest (SIP or Lumpsum) in pre-curated Smart Baskets aligned to their risk appetite and investment horizon, with flexibility to choose any basket, customise fund allocation, review portfolio composition, and invest seamlessly through SIP or Lumpsum.

How to place an SIP Order Using Smart Basket ?

  • On the Dashboard, locate the Smart Baskets section.

  • You will be provided with 5 different types of baskets - conservative, moderate, moderately aggressive, aggressive and very aggressive.

  • Tap on any one and a 'risk assessment' genie pops up. You can either take the risk assessment or tap on the skip button. (This ensures your investments align with your goals and comfort level.)

    1. If the user has completed Risk Profiling:

      • The platform highlights a Recommended Basket based on the user’s risk appetite

    2. If the user has not completed Risk Profiling:

      • The platform prompts the user to complete the risk profiling questionnaire (8 questions).

The recommended basket is provided as guidance only. The user is free to invest in any basket, irrespective of the recommendation.

  • Choose a basket based on your risk profile (e.g., Conservative, Moderate, Aggressive).

  • Enter:

    • Basket Name (e.g., XYZ)

    • Investment Type: SIP or One-Time

    • Minimum investment limits:

      • SIP: ₹5,000 per month (basket level)

      • Lumpsum: ₹25,000 (basket level)

    • If SIP is selected:

      • User selects the investment period (how long the SIP should run)

      • Installment Date (e.g., 5th of every month)

      • Duration: 1, 3, 5, or 10 years

    • If Lumpsum is selected:

      • User selects the intended investment duration

    • Duration: 1, 3, 5, 10 or 15 years

  • Once all details are selected, click Continue.

  • Now, user is taken to the Allocation page.

  • The platform displays:

    • Asset-level allocation

    • Fund-level allocation

    • Percentage allocation across categories and funds

  • User can review:

    • Which funds are included

    • Allocation percentage for each category and fund

  • Each Smart Basket is constructed based on:

    • User’s Risk Profile

    • Selected Investment Period

  • For the same risk profile:

    • Basket composition may vary across different investment horizons.

  • Fund selection within a basket considers:

    • Geojit Advisory Team ratings, including 4-star and 5-star rated funds, as part of the evaluation process

Star ratings are used as an input for fund assessment and do not constitute buy or sell recommendations.

  • Each basket contains 4 to 7 mutual funds.

  • Funds are selected across multiple categories, which may include:

    • Large Cap

    • Mid Cap

    • Small Cap

    • Flexi Cap

    • Equity Savings

    • Dynamic Asset Allocation

    • Precious Metals

  • By default, one fund per category is allocated.

  • To modify the allocation:

    • Tap 'Edit Allocation'.

    • Increase/decrease the number of funds under each category

    • The platform automatically recalculates the Fund-level allocation and the category-level allocation. (User can choose Reset to Default at any time)

    • Tap 'Save Allocation'.

  • Next click 'Continue'.

  • User is taken to the Overview page.

  • The platform displays:

    • Actual asset allocation across:

      • Equity

      • Debt

      • Cash

      • Others

    • Trailing returns of the basket are shown for:

      • 1 Month

      • 3 Months

      • 6 Months

      • 1 Year

      • 3 Years

      • 5 Years

      • 10 Years (for illustration of historical performance)

      Past performance does not guarantee future returns.

    • Best and worst historical performance of the basket over:

      • 3 Months

      • 6 Months

      • 1 Year

      • 3 Years

      • 5 Years (This helps users understand historical volatility and return range)

  • After reviewing, tap Continue.

  • Now, you will be navigated to the Fund Details Page.

  • The page displays:

    • Individual fund details

    • SIP or Lumpsum tagging

  • If SIP :

    • You can edit the SIP date for each fund (if required)

  • You can select the mode of holding:

    • Switch between Demat and Physical holding (where applicable)

  • After verifying all details, tap Invest.

  • Now you will be navigated to the Order Confirmation Page.

  • This page shows:

    • Total SIP amount or total Lumpsum investment value

    • Select bank account for the payment.

    • For SIPs, select the mandate bank.

    • If multiple banks are available:

      • The platform will display the available banks in your trading/demat account

  • Now, click 'Continue'.

  • For physical orders:

    • You will be redirected to the BSE authentication page

    • After successful authentication, you will be navigated to the payment screen.

  • For Demat Orders:

    • User is taken directly to the payment page

    • No additional authentication is required.

User can choose any of the following:

  • Net Banking

  • UPI

  • NEFT / RTGS

Payment is completed similar to a normal mutual fund purchase.

  • Once the payment is completed, you will be redirected to the Order Confirmation Screen.

  • All placed orders appear under Pending Orders (In progress).

  • Once units are allotted by the AMC:

    • Investments reflect in Holdings

    • SIPs start as per the selected schedule

  • Smart Baskets are model portfolios

  • Fund ratings and historical performance are indicative

  • Users retain full control to:

- Choose any basket - Modify allocation before investing - Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks
